The city of Little Rock’s Sustainability Office is encouraging residents to avoid single-use
plastics this month. Officials kicked off the third annual “Plastic-free July” with an event at the Green Corner Store
in the soMa neighborhood on Tuesday. Toward the end of the month, the office will hold a “plastic-free party” at Southern Tail
Brewing, located at 900 E. Ninth St. The event is scheduled for Sunday, July 26, from 11 a.m. to
4 p.m.
“This family-friendly celebration will feature hands-on activities for all ages, sustainable local
businesses, practical tips for reducing waste, and conscious community partners,” the city’s
