Governor Hutchinson has issued a proclamation that officially names today, Nov. 15, as America Recycles Day in Arkansas.
In his proclamation the Governor wrote, “Although there has been a significant increase in the amount of recycling in Arkansas to date, we must also continue to focus on other initiatives such as waste reduction, composting, the reuse of products and materials, and purchasing recycled products.”
America Recycles Day, a program of Keep America Beautiful, is celebrated on Nov. 15. Each year, the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission (KAB) promotes America Recycles Day in Arkansas. This nationally recognized day is dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling.
In honor of this day, people all over the nation are encouraged to take the “I Recycle” pledge at AmericaRecyclesDay.org. In addition to taking the pledge, many will host recycling events, participate in existing events or get involved by showing their support on social media.
Each year November 15 is recognized as America Recycles Day – a national initiative of Keep America Beautiful. ARD reminds us that we can each do our part to reduce, reuse, recycle and buy recycled products. This is an opportunity have fun while promoting these ideas in your office and at home! America Recycles Day events are not limited to 11/15 so consider doing something fun in your office anytime. Here are some ideas:
