Grants to support rural areas and towns with a population of 10,000 or less (eligible addresses) with special consideration given for project serving:
- An area with fewer than 5,500 or fewer than 2,500 people;
- Regional, multi-state or national areas; or
- Lower-income populations.
Projects may provide technical assistance or training to help communities reduce the amount of solid waste (note: source reduction, reuse, recycling, composting, and construction and demolition debris reduction, reuse and/or recycling projects are eligible) coming into a landfill or specified landfill-related technical assistance.
Applications Due: December 31, 2021
Eligibility: Public bodies, nonprofits, Federally recognized tribes, and academic institutions meeting grant criteria Funding Available: $4 million nationally with an award ceiling of $1 million
